Assateague Island State Park is definitely a spot to go topfree, though again, just like Ocean City, it will probably be most easy to do on a weekday or off-season day. The beach itself is pretty remote, and walking 200 yards in either direction will probably take you out away from the crowds if you don't feel quite up to going topfree in the crowd. Either way, I managed to spend about an hour topfree without drawing negative attention from the lifeguards, who did see me a couple times. My theory was that if I didn't give them a reason aside from topfreedom to come take issue with me, they wouldn't. The day I was there, the crowd was mostly older folks, though there were several young couples. No one looked twice at my topfreedom, and overall I had a great time. I think if Assateague goes topfree, Ocean City will follow a little easier, since they are so close together.
