My husband and I stayed at the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus in Bayhibe, Dominican Republic. Since a majority of the people that go to the Dominican are European, topless is quite common. It was amazing to see how comfortable the women were and how understanding the rest of the people were with toplessness. We saw women of all ages enjoying the beach topless; even saw families with their children topless. Women felt very comfortable to walk to the water, to the bar, or do their exercises without putting on their tops. We guess that at any time about 30% of the women were topless at our hotel. We did walk to some of the other hotels near by and noticed more topless women at those hotels (maybe as high as 60%). We thought it might have to do with the age group of our hotel, mostly older couples.

I felt very comfortable to sit out and enjoy the sun topless. Never once did I feel like anyone was staring.

At the pool, topless was strictly forbidden and we did not see anyone trying. It seem to be the place were most of the children played.
