I went to visit my best friend whom has just moved to Byron Bay in Northern New South Wales. As I am from the bush I considered this to be my holidays as well. My friend Bec (Rebecca) and I went shopping and cruising round till we decided to hit the beach. We stopped at Belongil Beach just north of Byron. It was a beautiful beach with many women who were topless (70%). We found a spot and Bec removed her dress and was only wearing thong bottoms.I have never been topless on a public beach before but often sunbathed topless at home. With a little encouraging from Bec I removed my top and sat there for a while. Noticing many other women topless I didn't feel at all self-conscious and was even walking to the water after 10 mins. The beach is long with golden white sand. I love the feeling of topless bathing and look forward to my next venture to the beach.

My husband Greg and I recently holidayed at Byron Bay, Australia with good friends. Amazing place with beautiful weather and warm clear waters and what seems to be very topfree friendly atmosphere. My friend and I hadn't done topfree bathing before but we are now advocates for it. We headed to Watego's beach on the first day and saw many (70%) women topfree. I wore a one piece and my friend had a crop-top bikini and after about an hour Beth and I decided we should try. We waited till our husbands went for a swim and I pulled my straps down as Beth removed her top. It was a liberating experience and the look on the boys faces when they returned was also encouraging. We decided to buy new bikini's the next day and would leave the tops at the unit when ever we went to the beach. We went on a site seeing bus trip one day and had lunch and a swim at another beach spot. Two other women removed their summer dresses to swim and only had bikini bottoms on so Beth and I also did this. The locals are very relaxed about topfreedom and we never felt uncomfortable in doing this.

By the end of the 2 weeks my friend and I had fantastic tans from this fantastic holiday.

Can't wait till next holiday.

My wife and I have been to Byron Bay many times. It is approx 2.5 hours south of Brisbane. It generally has an alternative lifestyle, but is becoming much more popular with tourists. The main beach is almost to the point where women with tops on look out of place. My wife has no worries about being topfree there, tanning, swimming, walking around. She generally doesn't take her top anymore. It is quite interesting to note all the other reports regarding the infectious nature topfreedom, i.e. when someone starts there is almost always others who will join. The same is true for Byron Bay, many obvious tourists arrive to find the beach populated with topfree women, they start out on the beach with tops on, but not before long they decide to join in and usually never have need for their top again. Highly recommend this spot both as a holiday destination and for anyone who wishes to enjoy relaxed topfreedom.
