I was topfree at the Hyatt beach and pool, Fiesta Americana beach and at the beach at Fat Tuesdays in Cancun.  At each place we saw at least one other topfree woman.  At the pool at the Hyatt a woman even thanked me for taking the lead.  The only response was from a bunch of high school graduates who had to point us out.

My wife and I traveled to Cancun, Mexico for the first time this last January. January is not the best month for it was windy and cool. We had a great time anyway. From our hotel we walked the beach the first day and noticed some ladies laying out topfree. My wife commented she would try it in the right situation, but not this day. The next day we took a day trip to Cozumel to do some snorkeling. The ferry ride over was very rough and it made my wife a little sick. So taking a charter boot out to the reefs was not possible. So we took a taxi down to a park south a few miles from Cozumel. We entered the beach area and ended up setting up our chairs at the south end of the beach with very few people. We sat in the sun for awhile and then walked around seeing only one young gal in a thong. I then went and rented the snorkel gear and began down by our chairs. My wife stayed at the chairs and enjoyed the sun. After about an hour or better my wife came and got me and asked to sit with her for awhile since we didn't have much time left. So we walked back to our chairs and we noticed a lady laying topfree. We continued to our chairs and sat for a little while. I needed to return the snorkel gear so as my wife layed in the sun I walked over to the stand and turned in my gear. I walked back to our chairs much to my surprise my wide had taken off her top and was enjoying the sun. I was very surprised and pleased. We layed for a couple of hours before we had to leave and as time went by she became more and more comfortable. It was her first time and she enjoyed it greatly. When we when back to Cancun the next several days my wife went topfree several more times as long as there were other ladies around that were topfree also.

We visited Cancun in July 2003. Stayed at the hotel zone. This was our fourth time to Cancun. I visited the beach 3 days and each time was topfree. I enjoyed being topfree on the beach and in the ocean. I never felt the need to cover up, except for the hotel pool. During my stay I only saw one other girl topfree, so this was a little awkward. However, no one hassled me so I was able to enjoy my topfree experience, not to mention a great tan. This was very similar to my previous trips.

We just returned from a trip to Cancun, Mexico. We stayed at the Cancun Palace and am sorry to report that topfree is not welcome there. We saw four girls take off their tops on the beach the first day we were there and a security guard immediately walked up to them and made them put their tops on. This policy appears to be new because this was our fourth time there and have never seen this before. We spent a couple of days at the Moon Palace and found between 50% and 80% of the women on the beach to be topless while we were there.

My wife and I stayed a week at Moon Palace Resort in Cancun in spring 2002. Generally we saw 10-15% topfree on the beach. We did have a rather private balcony where she laid out topfree the first two days. On day three she took off the top on the beach, but only when she laid face down. She finally got the nerve to roll over on her back day four. She loved the feeling of the sun on her bare breasts and never wore her top on the beach again. She didn't walk around topfree but would remove her top once in the water. Debbie felt very at ease, no hassles and didn't feel she was being stared at.

The pool area has signs posted saying topfree should be limited to the beach but we did see one or two ladies topfree around the pool towards the end of our stay. Again, no hassles from the staff or other guests.

Debbie can't wait to go topfree again. I can't wait either.

Spent a week at Club Med Cancun in March 2002. Many women, my wife included, were topless on the beach. Approximately 20 percent of the female club guests were topfree. Staff served drinks and food without remark the entire week. They seem to permit it without actually telling you it is OK. At other Club Meds on the Pacific coast of Mexico we have been lectured on arrival that it is strictly forbidden.

Just returned from Cancun, Mexico. Nice place but toplessness was virtually non-existent. We were there for a long weekend and saw only two or three women without their tops. My wife didn't feel comfortable at all with so few participants. We stayed at the Jack Tar Village. They had no problem with the toplessness but the clientele was not European enough. Too many uptight Americans. Nice resort though.

We recently visited the Camino Real in Cancun, Mexico. This resort has two beaches. About the third day some women at the "Playa" beach removed their tops. I was ready to remove my top when a resort official came down to the beach and told the topless women that they had to put their tops back on. I was disappointed to find that the Camino Real is not topless friendly.

At Jack Tarr Village in Cancun, Mexico about 20% of the women went topless on the beach area. One or two by the pool area. The age group was older than I expected. I would say 30% were under 40 and about 35% 40-60 25% 60+. I was surprised. Several of the women had G strings on and many had thongs on. Same ones that were topless. Many of the women swam in the water topless. My wife really enjoyed swimming topless. We went for a walk north and south. Not many walking topless at the other beaches and hotels. Did see a few on our walks. Most of the topless people were at Jack Tarr Village. The waves were fun and the salt water was really salty. It's my first time at a salt water beach.

We recently spent ten days in Cancun. The first three days we stayed on the main hotel strip, at the Cancun Palace Resort. There were usually no more than three or four topfree women on the beach, at any one time. Only a couple during the three days actually walked around, or swam topfree. Most covered up whenever they strayed from their lounge chairs. No women went without their tops at the pool

We spent the last seven days at the Adventura Palace Resort, about 45 minutes to the south. There were as many as a dozen topfree women at a time on the beach (lagoon). Several swam, snorkeled, kayaked, and strolled about topfree. Jeannie was usually the only topfree woman at the pool, but it is allowed, and eventually two other women did join in.

My wife and I were in Cancun last February, 2000. We spent 6 days in Le Meridien Hotel, towards Jack Tar Village (an adult couples resort). We saw only a few women topless (2 or 3 in our hotel and no more than 5 in the neighbor hotel). So, it was difficult for Anabel stay topless in the beach, because sometimes she was the only. She didn't walk up and down the beach topless for the same reason. Now, we are looking for a place in Mexico where topless is normal. Probably our next vacations will be in Baja or in Playa del Carmen.

We spent a week each in Cancun and Aruba. At the Jack Tar Village in Cancun the guests were mostly European and nearly all went topless on the beach. Even the Americans. Some of us from the USA seemed to be eager for a chance to enjoy toplessness that we can't experience at home. The tops came off without hesitation. The pool was not used topless but the sundeck below it was despite a sign stating otherwise. Everyone seemed comfortable, no gawking, and the police patrol ignored us. Each day more and more of the women took off their tops. By the end of our stay most women were uncovering their breasts. I loved the feeling. I even went to a beachwear shop in town and bought a skimpy thong bikini--much skimpier than I ever wore before-- and left the top in our room. We had a such a good time on the Jack Tar stretch of beach we never wandered far so I can't say how much topless use other parts of the beach got. In front of our hotel someone could count maybe 25 to 40 topless sunbathers at one time. All the men were very good about it; they just chatted with us like semi-nude women were a common experience. We'll go back for sure!

We stayed at the Fiesta Americana hotel in the hotel zone in Cancun, Mexico. A handful of women, including my wife, went topfree on the beach in front of the hotel, and one ventured to the adjacent beach, in front of an abandoned hotel. There were either security guards or police occasionally present, but they did not even give a second look. We did not see any topfree women in the pool area, and at least one American couple was offended by the topfreedom, and got up and left in a huff.

I was at the Moon Palace Resort in April. This is a nice property, away from the mass of activity on the Cancun strip. The resort does allow topless sunbathing on the beach but not do at the pool. It is a family resort and there were a number of children of all ages. There are elevated areas in the pool area where you could have some privacy. These were rather popular and accommodated about 6-8 people. I only observed 3 women over three days that were topless, and the voyeurs kept their distance. I am a man and wore a thong on the beach. I was absolutely the only one most of them had ever seen. I was amused, by the amount of attention and photography I provoked. I also only saw three women in thongs. They were not the same women that were topless, for what that is worth!

My husband and I went to Cancun last September. There were mainly adults on the beach at this time of the year. Some women were topless which made it easier for me. It was well accepted and no hassles. I do not think I would feel comfortable if I was the only one topless. It was a new experience and others may like to try it.

My two friends and I just returned from Cancun last week. We had heard about how topless is acceptable and all three of us were looking forward anxiously to coming home without tan lines. On our first day there we went to the pool and beach of our hotel and saw no one topless. Since we had never done this before we felt uncomfortable being alone. After three days there and a few drinks later, I decided what the hell and removed my top at the beach. My girlfriends remained covered. No one bothered me and it felt great. The next day my friends joined me and removed their tops. They also really enjoyed the feeling. Within two hours about ten other women at our beach were topless. Some even walked around bare breasted and other than a few looks, everything was cool. I will say that my friends and I were the only single women topless, the others were all with boyfriends/husbands. One woman told me she was topless because her boyfriend wanted her to be.

I just returned from a trip to Cancun with my wife and kids. We stayed at the Casa Maya Resort. There were at least two or three women on our beach topless every day. On runs along the beach toward the downtown area it seemed as though there were two or three topless women on every beach. I also noticed topless women on the other side of the island at the Melia Cancun. Keep in mind, this was also the "off season". My wife kept her top on because we had our kids with us. We are booked at the Reef Club in Playacar in February (just the two of us). Based on what we have read on this site, she may not even pack a top. We'll let you know how it goes.

My wife and I just returned from Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Isla Mujeres in Mexico. My wife went topless at all three locations but primarily only on the beach.
The percentage of topless is estimated as follows:
Cancun (at Fat Tuesday's on Playa Tortuga Beach and just west of there 1/2 mile) 30-45% topless
Playa Del Carmen (From Cozumel ferry pier north about a mile) 40-50%
Isla Mujeres (Playa Norte) 25-35 %
Please note that there were NO full nude persons at any location. These observations were made the week of September 17-25, 1999. Many of the topless ladies were from Europe.
