We spent a two-week holiday on the Cuban island of Cayo Largo in February 2001. Our accommodation was the 2-month old hotel complex Sol Club Cayo Largo, with lots of fun and a fantastic Caribbean atmosphere.

Within the hotel premises a complete bikini was only required for breakfast. In the landscaped pool area many women did topless sunbathing and swimming, we guess some 50% of all women from 20 to 60 did so. Toplessness was also acceptable at the pool bar. Some women wore G-strings only. There were no complaints at all, a completely relaxing holiday atmosphere. The majority of guests were from Canada, Italy and Germany, plus a variety from other European countries.

The Sol Club Cayo Largo has a 300m long private beach section. Here as well, 60 to 70% of all women were topless, also for swimming and walking on the beach. There were no complaints or looks from other tourists or the hotel staff. Nobody cared, everything was perfectly relaxed. Cuba seems to be much less restrictive with nudity than we expected. At some other public beaches we even noticed topless Cuban girls enjoying the sun and the water.

All in all a very recommendable part of the world, and we would like to stress that we really met very many good-looking men and women on Cayo Largo, willing to show their bodies without shame. We liked it!

My wife and I have just returned from Cayo Largo, Cuba and had a very enjoyable seven days. The resort we stayed in was the Pelicano and has a 4 star rating. Cayo Largo is an offshore key south of Cuba. The beach is about 20 miles long. On the first day we noticed how topless freedom is accepted and considered perfectly normal while sunbathing, swimming or walking the beach, and to a limited extent by the pool.

My wife did not remove her top the first day in front of the resort, where we were most of the time and about 40% to 50% were topless. On the second day, while walking on a quiet part of the beach, she took off her top and was quite comfortable.

While passing individuals sunning on the beach, she didn't turn around and face the people on the beach but it did not bother her either. And while she knew they could see her, they were not staring at her.

The rest of the week when ever we went swimming, laying out or even walking up and down the beach, my wife went topless and enjoyed doing so.

I should also add there was some naturism which made it easy to be topless or nude on beach too. This means that thongs are accepted too.

This island is highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy "Top Freedom", especially for the first time.
