In Ireland, and in particular in Dublin, an increasing number of women are discarding their tops on the beaches. It is not illegal and does not bother anybody, and nobody bothers the women either. When my wife Anne and I go to the beach, she rarely wears a top. She started doing this about 10 years ago and feels quite comfortable sunbathing wearing just the bottom half of her bikini. On the Beaches around Dublin, particularly when it is warm and sunny, about 10% to 15% of women don't wear tops and the proportion is growing each year. Anne's favorite beaches are Portmarnock (north of the city) and Killiney to the south. Most wear their tops when going swimming or walking along the beach, but some don't. In the parks in Dublin city tops are never taken off, but in the larger parks outside the city, such as Malahide Castle there is no problem in going topfree.
