We spent two weeks in this region in August, exploring the coastline centered on Dinard along the Emerald Coast in North Brittany. As everywhere in France, topless sunbathing is acceptable and practiced. Unlike the French beaches in the Vendee or on the Mediterranean, the proportion of women going topless though was quite low, never more than 30% and sometimes down to a mere handful on a large beach - and mainly women in their thirties and forties. Nevertheless Karen spent everyday on the beach topless and even when one of only few sunbathing topless, never felt anything other than very comfortable with the typical French attitude to topfree.
