Dia duit (hello in Irish) from the northwest of
Ireland! I have just found your web site tonight and I never knew breasts caused
such bother. I have been without any top on nearly all the beaches in Sligo.
Sometimes accompanied by my husband and children, on other occasions alone.
No one has ever passed any comment or made me feel I should cover up. Most warm
days people come to Enniscrone, Strandhill, Rossespoint and other smaller beaches
all along the Sligo coastline from the four corners of the world. How they cover
or uncover their breasts on Irish beaches is their own business and no need
to hide in the sand dunes either.
Looking forward to a nice summer this year and best of luck. Slán go
fóill (Goodbye for now).

Whilst topfreedom is not commonly practiced in Ireland, I regularly sunbathe/swim topfree on Irish Beaches, and no one has ever complained. I honestly think that the vast majority of people are not bothered in the least. All of my topless bathing would have been on the West Coast: Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, but I have no reason to believe that the reaction would be any different anywhere else. Often it only takes one person to take their top off, and a few more follow.
