My brother lives just outside Laguna Beach California, and I've gone out to visit every other year or so. The first time I went, Jason came along with me, and we stayed at a motel in Laguna Beach. It was late March, and very cool for the area, but the motel had a heated pool, and they didn't have any problem with us wearing our thongs, or me using the pool topfree.

They even had a gift shop and sold both men's and women's thongs for use at the pool and beach! Some of the women's suits didn't have matching tops. A sign near the suits indicated that topfree was permitted at the motel pool and "some" local beaches but didn't really say which ones. It really didn't make much difference, since the beach was too cool that trip anyway.

The last time I went it was summer and my half-sister Nicki went too and we stayed at my brother's house. The place where he lives has a private beach with a security gate, and we both were perfectly comfortable going topfree there and wearing just our T-backs.

Later, we went into Laguna Beach village, to get some lunch, and could see women in thongs on the beach across the street. We ask the server about topfree, and he said that he thought it was technically illegal, but that a lot of women did it anyway. We ran back to the house, put on our G-strings, so we could get the most sun, and went back to the beach. By the time we got back, several guys were laying out, sunning their buns in the skimpiest thongs I've ever seen a man wear. After seeing that these guys could get away with wearing . . . thongs, we decided that our being topfree shouldn't bother anyone at all. We were right!

For the rest of the day, we layed out in our G-strings, and nobody seemed to care. Once in a while a uniformed policeman would wander around the beach, but when he came our way, we just flipped over to our stomachs, and they didn't hassle us. One of the guys said they were looking for drugs and booze, not women who were topless.

We had our share of gawkers, both men and women, but they were very nice and just strolled by and didn't bother any of us.
