I've seen many other women going topfree at the boardwalk (beach) as I was growing up, but never considered taking the step myself. Recently, I have spent more time at home without a top, so it seemed more natural. The last time we went to Santa Cruz, I wasn't planning on going topfree, but became very uncomfortable stuck in my top. While my husband was in the surf, I yanked my top off and felt the exhilaration of freedom! There were a few gawkers, but none more obvious than my husband when he came back to the blanket.

My boyfriend and I went out to Santa Cruz for the 4th of July weekend and, after reading the post on your site from Greg, I decided to be topfree! I laid out on the beach several hours on both days with no incident. Just like Greg stated, many times lifeguards would come by but they never bothered me. Heck, there was a Jr. Lifeguard training session going on during the second day I was there and, even when 30 lifeguards in training jogged by, there were no incidents. I do agree with Greg that the Santa Cruz Boardwalk beach is a great place to be topfree.

My girlfriend and I went to Santa Cruz to escape the city and it was an absolutely beautiful weekend! We went to the beach by the Boardwalk and lied out just north of the pier. My girlfriend had no problem being topfree for the 3-4 hours that we relaxed on the beach. At one point a lifeguard drove by and didn't have any problem. Right before we left, a woman next to us removed her top; no doubt prompted by the example. I think that the Santa Cruz Boardwalk is a great place to encourage more top freedom. There are no legal barriers, plenty of people with open-minds, and plenty of tourists to see that top freedom is not such a strange idea!
