My husband and I hired a houseboat with some friends over the September holidays and cruised around the Southport seaway. We moored each night at Wave Break Island and each morning would swim and sunbathe here. There were a few other boats around but we decided what the hell and swam as well as walked along the beach front all while being topless. Of the women we saw only 30% were topless but after a while we noticed more women removing there tops. Sarah and I stayed topless the whole week and only once put our tops on to visit a resort on South Stradbroke Island for dinner. It was a fantastic week and we never felt uneasy about being topless plus I have a great tan, can't wait till our next holiday.

My sister was in town on holiday with one mission in mind which was to get an even tan. So each day of her stay we would head to the beach at Main beach Southport. We both only ever wore g-strings the whole time on the beach, even swimming or walking the beach. The culture here has a European attitude to topless bathing with only the odd looker, but they move on. We would park and walk to the beach wearing a only a sarong. My sister being younger and little more daring than I would even walk back to car with the sarong only around her waist.My husband would come with us and even he is now wearing a g-string.

My brother and his wife were in town for the weekend a month ago. As they are from the country, we decided to head to the beach. We took them to Main Beach Southport on the Gold Coast as my wife often goes topless there as do many. When arrived we set up our beach gear and Jenni removed her shirt and just had bikini bottoms on. My brother's wife looked a little embarrassed at first but after a while she also removed her top. The girls were walking to the water topless and even went for a stroll along the beach. My brothers wife had never done this before and said she feels at total ease and can't wait to do it again.

We have since been back to the beach and this time my brother's wife didn't even bring a top. All beaches on the Gold Coast are topfree friendly and this is a great place to be.
