The beach in the Port Dalhousie area of St. Catharines, Ontario is a "safe" place for women to be topfree. Although there is a sign posted stating that women must wear tops, the Parks and Recreation Dept. states that they do not harass women who choose to be topfree. In fact, they deny that sign even exists.

Because it is not common for women to appear on this beach topfree, one may encounter some nasty comments from other beach-goers. Most harassment comes from other women. If one can focus on the issue rather than the personal attacks from these confused people, they usually go away without any problems. The local police seem to recognize women's right to be topfree and generally speaking do not harass us.
