My girlfriend Liz-Anne had wanted to try going topless for quite some time but was quite nervous about it. We found a beach in the southern suburbs of Sydney, Wanda beach, which had the right mix of relative remoteness (for a Sydney beach) and reasonable number of topless women.

We set up our towels and then she tentatively lowered her top (she wore a 1-piece the first time). When we decided to go for a swim, she opted to pull up her top to go down to the water. Once in the water, she felt more relaxed and once again removed her top. She decided to return to the beach topless. She felt quite self-conscious as she passed a few guys on the way back to her towel. However she realized that although a few guys glanced at her, none actually stared. She was a little more comfortable after that.

We've been back several times since and she now has no qualms about sunbathing, swimming, and walking down to the water topless. Quite often there are other women walking and swimming topless. It is quite accepted. The northern end of the beach is definitely more relaxed but it's not uncommon to see topless women sunbathing amongst the more crowded areas of the southern stretches. Recently she told her friend (who had always wanted to try it but had never gone through with it) about Wanda and she has asked if we could take her along next time. It a good place for first-timers!

My Husband and I have just recently moved to Sydney. Since the last couple of weeks have been getting warmer, and have some free time before starting our new jobs, we decided to take a look at what Sydney's beaches have to offer. Manly, Bronte and of course Bondi beach we visited in the last two days. I have never been topfree, but really wanted to try it. So first stop was Bondi Beach on Monday at lunchtime. Myself and my husband walked along the whole beach to see if there were any other women being topfree and a number of women were topfree. So, we picked our spot on the beach and I took my bikini top off and sat back to sunbathe, a number of people did look but never said anything. We kept our eye on the other topfree women to see what the normal thing to do, like going swimming or walking stuff like that. All the topfree women that were around us would put a top on to swim and go to the shops. So that is what I did too. The next two beaches were Bronte and then Manly. It was the same as at Bondi, sunbathing topfree and no one seems to care, but the norm is to put a top on to swim or to go to the shop. I really enjoy my first topfree experience and it will not be my last. Sydney's beaches look to be a great place to go topfree, I know that I will not need my bikini top much.

Any Australian or anyone visiting Australia and have information about topfree, put it on here so that it helps everyone. Come on Australia.
