In response to Casey, maybe the Russians were just complementing your spirit of independence. I have never been there on a Saturday or Sunday, but on a recent Tuesday night there were two completely topfree women and no-one seemed to be whispering about them or paying them much attention at all. If I look back on it, in recent years I seem to have seen more topfree women on Wed. Nights than others. Also in the summer on Friday late morning-early afternoons, before the shadows take over, the roof deck is a popular topfree sunbathing spot. In fact, I think this is true all week long, but probably more so on Friday because people want to touch up their tans for the weekend at the beach. In fact, the dress code for the roof deck both sexes can be reduced to a towel bunched between your legs.

I wanted to ask others out there what times are best to go to the 10th Street Baths. I usually go on Saturdays in the morning through afternoon, and have never seen any other topfree women there. Are there better times (besides the women's only day)? Are evenings better?

I have never had any trouble from the staff or anything, but am always more comfortable in an atmosphere where there are other free breasts around. This last weekend I went and there was a group of people talking about me in Russian and whether what I was doing was appropriate. I understood enough Russian to get that they were talking about me, though not enough to know what their final verdict was.

Like I said, I really like the place and, honestly, would feel a bit silly taking the saunas in a floral bandeau bikini top like many of the women, but would just like some advice on how to make it a better experience. . .

This is really an update on the Baths from my report of last year. Recently, they've gotten MUCH more accepting of topfree women, to the point where we can actually walk from room to room bare breasted without any problems at all. On those afternoons that I've been there, there are usually a few topfree women enjoying the facilities and usually we simply wear a towel tied around our waists. Some first timers are still shy about taking off their tops, but when you realize that it makes absolutely NO sense to be covered up in a steam room, it's not a big deal to get rid of as much clothing as possible. I urge anyone who wants a great, relaxing place to enjoy themselves and feel good afterwards to stop by, lose everything but the towel, and enjoy yourself.

Hi...thought you might enjoy a report about an indoor location where topfree is alive and well. The 10th Street Baths in New York City (10th Street off Avenue A) is a co-ed health facility which provides steam rooms, saunas, etc. It's very clean and friendly, and although the stated policy is "no nudity", the management allows topfree women to make use of the facilities without hassel, as long as nobody complains. The fee is $22, which allows you to remain as long as you wish, and there are separate locker rooms with locked lockers for your clothing and valuables. Robes and towels are provided, and the facilities are really refreshing. Obviously, it's appropriate to be topfree in a sauna or steam room, it feels great, and women can be totally at ease within the environment. I've been there twice in the last few weeks, and urge women to check it out the next time they're in New York City!
