Woodland Beach in Delaware is a secluded beach on the Delaware Bay, about 10 miles east of Smyrna. Jake and I occasionally make a trip with our dogs to play and get some sun. I almost always wear a thong and remove my top, as there are sections of beach that allow you to see anyone walking your way. Sometimes I won't cover up at all when people come (usually if it's a young couple, or a couple of women) and I haven't had a problem yet, even with the thong. Happily, the last time we went, last weekend, we came to two women, mid-thirties, sunning in normal bikini bottoms but without tops. We waved and they waved back. It's the first time we've ever seen anyone else topfree. A couple warnings, the bugs can be absolutely horrible in June and July and sometimes in August. It's really a crap shoot as to weather the beach will be tolerable or not. Not sure I would make a trip from far away. Also, their is a somewhat crazy, though harmless, old man who cruises the parking lot waiting to pounce on dog-poop leavers. So bring a plastic bag if you are bringing your dogs. And finally, Delaware is pretty conservative about topfreedom and thongs. The ocean beaches like Rehobeth and Fenwick and Dewey all enforce dress codes, that's why we go to Woodland instead. Gawking is also hard because there is so much sand. You'd have to be pretty obviously gawking. We haven't been gawked yet.
